Hope this finds everyone well - I am honored that I have been asked to take over as webmaster for the Namido site. The site, from what I understand, has been through a few hands and with that, errors occur. I will say that I am not happy with the way the Master Council's page is coming up. So, I am going to repair it. To do so, I am going to have to wipe it completely out and start anew. I don't want anyone to panic or wonder what is happening ~ so my reason for leaving this notion this morning. As the site has grown, the Masters page has also, so it will take some time, but as my lovely husband will tell you, I don't do things half way and I can tend to be a perfectionist. And that is why I will be wiping the page clean to start with a clean slate.I have a folder of emails with changes, corrections and additions. I will work my way through these. Please email me at dhhenson66@aol.com if you have anything that needs attention on the page. This site is a work in progress, always changing ~ just like each and every one of us are. Be blessed today ~ or better yet, be a blessing to someone and share your belief!!Love to all!Dawne
Hope this finds you blessed and well!Just wanted to let you know that we have some updates to our site - please welcome Mr. Jacob Ortiz - better known as Tito. We had the honor of meeting him at The Battle in the Burg, and Michael asked him if he would join us at Namido, and he replied that he would love to. After having a chance to talk to him, found out he is an outstanding gentleman with a big heart. We welcome him with open arms. And our own Tad Waltman accepted a match with 3 days notice and did a remarkable job. He didn't take the win, but certainly gave his all against an opponent that outweighed him. Be sure to check the pictures of his fight out in the Battle in the Burg album. Please remember at any time, if you find something that needs to be corrected, or added, email me at dhhenson66@aol.com and I'll take care of it!Thank you once again for allowing me to be webmaster.Be blessed today - or better yet, be a blessing to someone!!Love you all!Dawne
Greetings Everyone,
Here is my statement in regards to the topic that Buddy Cooper addressed recently on our Guestbook page. This post in only my opinion and stance concerning anyone who would ridicule Namido or it's members.:
I fully support the sentiments that Buddy just shared with us. Here is my resolve. Guys, I believe that Jesus was not providing us with a false warning when He said "In this life, you will have trouble."There will always be those who reject/attack our organization. The reason is because Namido DOES NOT (and will not as long as I can help it) fit into the normal idea of what martial arts is all about. People who do not train in martial arts often reject the idea of using the arts to spread the gospel. People who do train in martial arts often are intimidated by it because our motives for training/teaching are not something that they can grasp in their wordly/secular/economical/prideful thinking. That is fine. We must all simply resolve to not let others drag us down to their level of thinking/bickering and get our eyes off of the true reason that we do what we do. Our reason is not the cotton belt (whatever the color, width, or age) that holds our pants up, not the title that so many display with an insecure agression, and not the glory that can be earned by achieving victories and successes as a teacher or a competitor. Our one and only goal is to share the love and grace of Jesus Christ with those who need it. As a side note to those in Namido who would be offended by anyone that has wronged them in a the way that this message has addressed, remember, we must share the LOVE and GRACE of our Lord with those who persecute us as well as those who do not. I LOVE everyone in Namido and, I count all of you as members of my true family. Anyone who knows me can testify that this is a true statement. I am fully persuaded not to let anyone or anything keep me or Namido from fulfilling my/our mission to spread the message of Jesus' saving power with all of those who would be receptive. If you are someone who is reading this and is offended by my message, I am truly sorry for offending you. That is not my mission. However, I would encourage you to examine your own heart as well and make sure that you have not been uneccesarily harsh/hurtful to anyone who is simply trying to follow the martial way to the best of their abilities. If you wish to find out for yourself what we at Namido are truly about, I extend an open invitation for you to attend ANY Namido event and just see how we truly do love each other as well as the Lord Jesus Christ. I promise that we will make every effort to welcome and accept you with love and hospitality. "Why?", you may ask. That is simple...because that is what we do, and that is who we are.
God Bless you all,
Brian Means
